I don't see Central over Imperial or Southwest. What is the coaching situation at Central? Is coach Shane coming back with the help of the kids coaches? Has Central hired a different head coach?

Mr. Wilson....haha agh...I am sure it is aggravating to you that Southwest rebuilds every year to be second... I'll admit they don't have the program that Brawley has but give credit where credit is due...don't you guys that knock Southwest get tired of being wrong?

Now that is Honestly-put!!! They WILL come in 2nd or a close 3rd. What is Southwest doing this year? The last couple of seasons Coach Rob & Coach Izzy were doing off season wrestling, they are doing NOTHING this year. One maybe two guys are wrestling at CENTRAL. Believe me when I say the IVL's should FEAR THE SPARTANS!

Mr. Wilson, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I haven't the faintest idea where you are getting your predictions from. I will advise you to wait until the season unfolds. My guess is that your name will just disappear once you realize you are completely wrong. Exactly like all the other trash talkers.

I dont think that I am talking trash at all. I am just keeping it real so to speak. You are right everyone is entitled to their own predictions but at the end of the season you will see Central and Imperial over Southwest. Dont you remember last year Holtville actually beat Southwest head to head just good old Southwest had a couple more bye's and won, and that was against Holtville. Now really what do think is going to happen when you face a full tough Central or Imperial line up, teams that have been wrestling all summer long, going to camps, going to tournaments, with TOUGH incoming freshmen. I know what is going to happen "YOU WILL LOSE".

Southwest didn't exactly have their full line up for Holtville. They only lost two seniors. They gave up three byes to Imperial and still beat them, and imperial lost something like 4 or 5 seniors, and I can only think of Austin Harvey coming into highschool that is notable. Who from Wilson or Kennedy is going to Central next year that will do something at tournaments? I can only think of three people that actually attend Central and work out in their room, the rest are in elementary school.

Holtville was missing a couple of starters as well. Honestly Put,
Once again Imperial had two walkovers which were two of our better wrestlers.We were also missing two varsity wrestlers in our line up and had seven first year wrestlers, one of which had only had one match prior to that night.And yes we lost 5 seniors this year, but Junnette caldera should fill in the 103 lbs. spot nicely next year as Austin Harvey will fill in Casey Derricks spot next year.
What IVL should be doing is thinking outside the box and focus on CIF, masters and state.
Go IVL!!!!!!!

Mr. Wilson. If you want to beat southwest you need to do your part. Coming out for summer league is a good start. Also, attend our camp at the end of July. You will get about 5 weeks of mat time in 1 week run by the top guys in college wrestling today. When you just practice against who is in your room, depending on the quality of your room, you may get a false sense of where you really are. It is always better to under promise and over deliver, than to over promise and after a duel with a rival school have someone refresh this topic. Just some advice. With all this said I do think you have some good athletes and appreciate what Coach Alvarez is doing for you kids. Good luck this season.

Look Southwest is not even having practice. We are having practice. I know we have a lot of incoming freshman but they are going to be way better than the rookies southwest is bringing to the table. Plus we have something that Southwest will never have. The Spartan mentality, Mental Toughness!

Who are the top returners and incoming freshman in IVL?
That should give everyone an idea of the upcoming season.On a different note;
I'd like to congratulate Priscilla Caldera on her 4th All American honor and will be attending Lindenwood University in Missouri on a wrestling scholarship. Way to represent IVL and the section!

Mr.Wilson where do you get off saying that Southwest doesn't have a coach. Southwest has two coaches and a pretty good group of returning wrestlers. We only lost two wrestlers last year, Garett Larson and Anthony Russo.
