Just wondering which schools will be having open rooms through the summer. Also, it may be a little early, but I was also curious about who is planning to wrestle in Cal State Games. I have a couple of guys who want to wrestle in the summer, and I don't see our room being open around that time. Thanks for any info

We have wrestled at the Cal State Games the past two years and it was a pretty poor showing. I do not know if there were 75 total kids wrestling (K-8 Divisions). It started at 10 and was over by 1. It was Freestyle only. I do not think we are going to attend this year.

I will gladly bring my team if there is going to be anyone else there. Last year it was only a few individuals there, there was not another full club there. I brought 13 or 14 guys and 4 or 5 didn't even have matches. Who else is going to go?

He is talking about the kids tournament. The HS tournament is pretty solid. Anchors away. Z Cavaricci rules.

This year the Cal State Games folkstyle matches conflict with the Orange County Summer League Championship so, the Poway wrestlers won't be able to make it unless something changes. The Cal State medals are nicer but, the Orange County tournament is better.

just wanted to say thanks to everyone who offered their welcome. I've been busy working so it's really up to the kids and their parents (who aren't so supportive of them wrestling). I'd like to take them around to roll w/some of you guys if we get the chance for me to actually take them, but at the moment I don't think they're able to make it out of the area. Thanks again.

No Mercy is a joke! On a good day you might find 10 kids there!

What! That is why No Mercy has and continues to produce state champions and All Americans in every style. Grass always looks greener on the other side.

I think it depends on what you are looking for. Quality or quantity. Coach Leon does not provide babysitting services and bluntly tells you that day one. Coach Leon also tells you wrestling is wrestling regardless of style but he clearly favors the Olympic styles of Freestyle and Greco. But most importantly I think No Mercy's record of producing champions year after year speaks for itself. RBVHWT if you are who you say you are then I am pretty sure you were in the room for many years and more recently before regionals. The beautiful thing about NO Mercy is it is a wrestling club with No school coaches, affiliation etc. and has a diverse school feeder population attending. So if you see no value in it then there is no reason for you to go.

ExRBVHWT is not talking about the wrestling club out here in SD county. He must be talking about this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091637/ If the No Mercy wrestling club only had 1 kid attending it would still not be a joke. Like Wolfpack said, they produce champs like its nothing. I don't know much about No Mercy other than the fact that kids that wrestled there come out swinging. ---------- Division 4. It is what it is.
